Aldous Harding: Ahead of a run of shows in Australia, Europe and the UK, gothic-folk singer Aldous Harding has four New Zealand dates lined up over the coming days. The Christchurch-raised musician plays her hometown this evening, before heading north for shows in Leigh, Wellington and Auckland. Get your tickets here.
The Jesus and Mary Chain: Seminal shoegaze act The Jesus and Mary Chain are bringing their landmark 1985 album Psychocandy to New Zealand as part of their 30th anniversary tour. Led by brothers Jim and William Reid, the band play Auckland’s Powerstation this Friday. Support comes from recent Critics Choice winners, Bespin.
Nadia Reid, Darren Hanlon and Anthonie Tonnon: Local songwriters Naida Reid and Anthonie Tonnon are linking up with Australian folk singer Darren Hanlon for an eight-date run around the country over the next couple of weeks. The tour opens tonight in Oamaru before shows in Port Chalmers, Christchurch and Okarito over the weekend. Presales are available at Under The Radar.
Louie Knuxx: Auckland-based hip hop artist Louie Knuxx is back with a new album Tiny Warm Hearts, due out tomorrow, and to celebrate he’s lined up a show at Galatos alongside Fortunes, Bailey Wiley and MeloDownz. All About Women: This Sunday, Auckland Museum are streaming two sessions live from the Sydney Opera House’s All About Women event. The programme include ‘What Needs To Change’ (a panel discussion with Mallory Ortberg and Masha Gessen) as well as a talk with Piper Kerman, the author behind the memoir Orange Is The New Black.
