Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga (Māori language and its customs) is the biggest thing that can help inform young Māori people about their history, says Rewa Worley.
The poet and activist, who is of Māori and Pākehā descent, got into spoken word after being involved in the Rising Voices poetry slam.
He says that his culture is part of who he is and he can’t help but speak on it.
“What I’m really interested in is not so much trying to fight off people trying to change me, but also for me to find inside myself what I can build and what I can shape.”
