Josh Burgess, a founding member of Yumi Zouma, grew up in Palmerston North before attending University in Christchurch. He now lives in Brooklyn, New York after moving there on a whim in 2012.
While back in New Zealand for a fleeting visit to open for Lorde on her New Zealand tour, Julian Vares tagged along with Josh to explore the city he once called home, taking the time to pick his brains about life in the big apple, what the concept of “home” means to him now, and how the pre-earthquake Christchurch music scene influenced his development as a musician.
