Dancer: Alice Macann

8:56 am on 6 December 2013

Contemporary dancer Alice Macann has been a member of New Zealand’s longest-running modern dance company, Footnote NZ, for the past two years.

She grew up in Nelson and moved to Wellington, the place of her birth, at the age of 16 to study at the New Zealand School of Dance.

Alice has travelled the world with Footnote, performing in contemporary dance’s heartland of Berlin, as well as at more mainstream events like the recent America’s Cup tournament in San Francisco.

She’s toured up and down New Zealand many times, performing works by some of this country’s leading choreographers, and taking part in educational workshops in schools.

Alice has an intense and sometimes mysterious stage persona that draws audiences in with her mix of subtle nuance and explosive athleticism.
