The Government has named seven new groups to provide trades training to help Maori and Pacific people gain employment.
They include a South Island collective of universities and polytechnics, Te Tapuae o Rehua, the Youth Futures Trust in Hawke's Bay and Te Runanga o Turanganui a Kiwa in Poverty Bay.
The groups will offer unemployed Maori and Pacific people training opportunities in areas such as construction and agriculture.
They are the first to be announced since the Government signalled it would expand the Trades Training initiative, offering $43 million over four years.
