National kapa haka body, Te Matatini, will on Thursday discuss whether it will change the venue for its 2015 event, which is double-booked with the Cricket World Cup.
The final day of the festival is set to run on the same day of the opening of the cup at Hagley Park in Christchurch.
However, the Environment Court has ruled that both events can't be held there if the combined crowds would exceed 20,000 people.
Te Matatini attracts more than 30,000 people over the four-day event.
Its spokesman Darrin Apanui says it's received letters with recommendations from the Christchurch City Council and hosts, Waitaha Cultural Council.
He says the board will hold a conference call on Thursday evening to look at the options, which include staying, or moving the date forward.
Mr Apanui says the Cricket World Cup is a large international event, with a lot of eyes on it - and the board will need to weigh up all options before making a final decision.
