New Ririki head braces for challenging job

The new head of Ririki, the organisation which aims to eradicate Maori child abuse, is preparing herself for a difficult job.

Maori educationalist Kuni Jenkins has been chosen and was approved by the founding chairperson Hone Kaa before he died.

Ririki executive director Anton Blank says Dr Jenkins was chosen by Dr Kaa because of her vast experience and devotion to Maori education.

Dr Jenkins says the key to her role will be strength and adaptability and looks forward to continuing Dr Kaa's work.

Dr Kaa died in March this year and was a tireless advocate for the welfare of Maori children.
