St. Louis Cardinals baseball manager Tony La Russa has retired, three days after his team won the World Series.

67 year old La Russa has been a major league manager for 33 years, 16 of them with the Cardinals, who beat the Texas Rangers in seven games for his third World Series title.

He said a number of factors just came together telling him his time was over.
