Wallabies number eight to play on the wing

Number eight Radike Samo will play on the wing for Australia in their final Rugby World Cup pool match against Russia in Nelson on Saturday, because of the lengthy injury list among the Wallabies backs.

Samo played the final stages of the last week's win over the United States on the wing.

Such is the casualty list among the backline that Deans has named only two backs in his replacements for Saturday's game in Will Genia and Nick Phipps, both halfbacks.

There was some good news for Deans, though, with openside flanker David Pocock returning to the side after missing games against Ireland and the US with a back injury.
