The Argentina rugby team has been dealt a major blow with vice-captain Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe to play no further part in the World Cup after suffering a serious knee injury against Scotland on Sunday night.
The flanker limped off during the first half of Los Pumas' 13-12 win in Wellington with scans revealing the Argentine has ruptured his left cruciate ligament.
The injury could keep the Toulon player out of rugby for six months.
The Pumas coach, Santiago Phelan, has yet to decide whether to call for a replacement.
Argentina play Georgia in their final Pool B game in Palmerston North on Sunday.
