Terry Doyle, a driving force in Queensland rugby for two decades has died, aged 65.

A life member of the Queensland Rugby Union after serving as its CEO from 1980-1996, Doyle was a driving force behind the advent of Super Rugby, and he revolutionised sports administration with his influence, not only shaping rugby but its rival codes.

Doyle, who'd been Queensland's youngest high school headmaster before his time in rugby, was hospitalised two weeks ago with a cardiac-related illness.
