Pearce hopes Carney plays NRL in 2012

Todd Carney's future at the Sydney Roosters is up in the air, but teammate Mitchell Pearce hopes the wayward star has a home somewhere in the NRL next year.

Carney is in danger of having his Roosters contract torn up following his latest alcohol-related breach and has been stood down for the rest of the regular season.

He will learn his fate at the end of the team's campaign and if he is sacked the NRL has yet to indicate whether it will register any contract offered by another NRL team for 2012 and beyond.

But Pearce hopes his friend and halves partner will be allowed to continue with another club.
