Adams wins again

7:18 am on 7 August 2011

Auckland shot putter Valerie Adams has maintained her unbeaten run in 2011, winning the latest Diamond League meeting in London.

Adams threw 20.07 metres to hand another defeat to arch rival Nadezhda Ostapchuk of Belarus.

Ostapchuk's best was 19.52 metres.

Although Adams' throw was below her best for the season, it was her biggest winning margin over her rival in their four clashes this year.

Adams' next competition will be the World Championships in Daegu, Korea starting August 27th.

Adams now leads the Diamond League Shot Put with 16 points, with Ostapchuk second on 12 and the USA's Jillian Camarena-Williams a distant third on six points.

There is one more shot put remaining in the Diamond League, in Zurich on September 8th.
