NZOC seeks help with Olympic team's song

8:11 am on 28 July 2011

Wednesday was 365 days until the London Olympic Games and the New Zealand Olympic Committee wants help choosing the team's official song.

New Zealanders are being asked to vote for their favourite entry in the Anthem in Black song writing competition and the NZOC has enlisted some of the nation's top athletes and musicians to help get people involved.

Track cyclists Sam Webster and Ethan Mitchell, together with Split Enz guitarist Mike Chunn and Oliver Green, whose song "I'm not afraid" is an Anthem in Black entry, are urging people to download the free music from NZ2012.com and vote for the official song.

Round two of the competition will run from August to November with all New Zealand musicians invited to take part. There'll be a final round of public voting next year.
