The veteran Australian rugby league international Petero Civoniceva is set to return to the Brisbane Broncos after gaining a release from the final year of his NRL contract with the Pentrith Panthers.
The 35-year-old Test and Queensland Origin prop has signed a one-year deal with the Broncos for 2012, which means he's likely to see out his playing career with the club where it started.
Civoniceva is in his fourth season with Penrith having switched from the Broncos after the 2007 season following 10 seasons with them.
Civoniceva has played 45 Tests for Australia and 30 State of Origin games for Queensland.
