Eric Murray and Hamish Bond had been eager to race the British duo of Peter Reed and Andrew Triggs Hodge since their encounter at Karapiro - where the gap was just a few inches.

Four time champion Mahe Drysdale will start in Bled as one of the favourites for the single scull title after a great row in a difficult lane to take second behind.
Sarah Gray, Louise Trappitt, Fiona Bourke and Eve Macfarlane excelled in a class women's quadruple scull field to take third place and a bronze medal.
