Queensland sealed a sixth straight State of Origin league series with a 34-24 victory over New South Wales in last night's decider in Brisbane, but the big match could have ramifications for a number of NRL clubs.
In particular the North Queensland Cowboys will be sweating on the results of scans on their superstar halfback Johnathan Thurston who was carted off with a medial ligament injury.
And the New South Wales and Canterbury Bulldogs hooker Michael Ennis was taken to hospital with suspected bleeding in the lungs.
