Push for new format at lopsided netball

As the lopsided results at the netball world championship in Singapore continue, support increases for Australia's push for a new format for the 2015 titles in Sydney.

Netball Australia wants to change the format so all of the top teams play each other.

The top four teams - Australia, New Zealand, England and Jamaica - are divided into four pools of four teams, and won't meet until the semi-finals at the earliest.

They're winning their pool games against minnow nations by at least 50 goals and there is growing pressure for change.

A likely scenario is a two-tier system of eight teams each, with the highest-ranked teams fighting it out for the world title in the top tier, and the lower group competing for promotion.
