Nadal sets up showdown with the Joker

1:31 pm on 2 July 2011

Reigning champion Rafael Nadal and soon-to-be world number one Novak Djokovic will meet in Monday's Wimbledon tennis final after the cream rose to the top at the All England Club.

Andy Murray sent local hopes soaring by winning the opening set of his semi-final with a fine display of controlled aggression but the insatiable Spaniard turned the knife and played Murray off the court 5-7 6-2 6-2 6-4 in just under three hours.

Djokovic earlier advanced to his first Wimbledon final courtesy of a four sets victory over Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with the victory assuring the Serb of the number one ranking regardless of Monday's result.

Djokovic, who will end seven years of Nadal and Roger Federer dominance at the top of the world rankings, says it doesn't get much better.

Djokovic has defeated Nadal in their past four meetings but the two-time Wimbledon champion holds a 5-0 edge at grand slams.
