The White Ferns made 125 for five after being sent in, with Liz Perry making an unbeaten 48 off 41 deliveries when her side had stumbled to five for three.
The bowlers then restricted India to 100 for seven.
The White Ferns play Australia tonight with the winner to play England in tomorrow night's final at Taunton.
