The Dallas Mavericks have won US basketball's NBA championship for the first time, beating favourites the Miami Heat 105-95 in Miami to win the series four games to two.
The Mavericks, who lost to Miami in the 2006 NBA finals after squandering a 2-0 series lead, took a nine-point lead into the final quarter of the game.
Dirk Nowitski was named most valuable player of the finals.
