World Cup dream over for Chisholm

The Australian lock Mark Chisholm, a near certainty for the Wallabies squad for this year's World Cup, will be sidelined for the rest of the season by a knee injury he sustained in Super Rugby action.

The 29-year-old, who has played 58 Tests for his country, ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament after being tackled by Anthony Faingaa in the ACT Brumbies' 22-14 victory over the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on Saturday.

The injury means Chisholm has also played his last match for the Brumbies after more than 100 appearances for the team from Australia's capital and he will undergo surgery before joining French club Bayonne for next season.
