The National Rugby League is banning several exotic betting options on its matches and the announcement of live odds during games.
After this weekend's round of NRL matches, betting operators will be banned from having markets on the first and last scoring plays of the second half of games, and whether there will be a field goal in the game.
NRL chief executive David Gallop announced the moves after a review of his organisation's gaming policy in the wake of recent scandal.
It is designed to maintain the integrity of the code which was plunged into crisis following revelations of irregularities around exotic bets in a match between Canterbury and North Queensland last year.
Sacked Bulldogs forward Ryan Tandy faces a string of charges over his alleged role in the spot-fixing scandal, where there was a plunge on a penalty being the first scoring play.
