Former Kiwi shifts to Paramatta

Parramatta have capped their halves recruitment drive by signing former Kiwi rugby league international Ben Roberts to join fellow recruit Chris Sandow at the NRL club from next year.

Roberts last played for the Kiwis in 2008 and has since played for Samoa. He's signed a two-year deal with the club, moving from the Canterbury Bulldogs where he's struggled for game time.

The struggling Eels could field an all new halves combination next season, with Roberts likely to challenge incumbent five-eighth Daniel Mortimer for a place in the starting side alongside South Sydney star Sandow.

Parramatta and Kiwis coach Stephen Kearney believes the change of scene will help Roberts return to his best.

Parramatta are currently 13th on the ladder, having just the three wins for the season.
