The Spanish motorcyclist Dani Pedrosa's participation in his home MotoGP next month in Barcelona is uncertain after tests confirmed a clean break to his collarbone following a crash in yesterday's French Grand Prix.
The injury-prone Honda rider, third in the world championship standings after four races, was battling for second at Le Mans with Marco Simoncelli when he fell into the gravel after clipping the Italian's back wheel.
The team says Pedrosa will decide in the next few days if he will undergo surgery to repair the fracture with a new plate or let the bone heal itself without intervention.
Pedrosa had collarbone surgery last month before coming back to win the Portuguese Grand Prix.
His compatriot and defending champion Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha leads the overall standings on 78 points, with Australian Honda rider Casey Stoner on 66 in second and Pedrosa on 61.
