Black Sticks overwhelm India

6:38 am on 14 May 2011

The New Zealand men's hockey team has produced one of the results of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup tournament in Malaysia, overwhelming India 7-3, and they've even given themselves a mathematical chance of making the final.

The Black Sticks had to come from behind three times during the match, and Blair Hilton and Andrew Hayward each scored doubles.

It's New Zealand's biggest win in 65 matches against India dating back to 1935.

To make the final the Black Sticks would have to upset unbeaten Australia in their final round robin match tomorrow, and they'd also need Great Britain and Pakistan to lose their last games.
