Warriors need a good game before a good result

A good performance rather than a winning result is the main objective for the Warriors vice-captain Michael Luck.

The 0 and 3 Warriors play the Sharks in Taupo on Sunday facing the prospect of propping up the NRL table by the end of the weekend.

Luck says the thought of a their worst ever start to a season isn't all that's motivating him, he just wants his side to play good football.

Since entering the league in 1995 the Warriors have never lost their opening four matches - but they have won just two of 12 matches played in New Zealand outside of Mt Smart Stadium.

The match in Taupo is a home game for the Sharks.
