Magic get past Tactix eventually

5:51 am on 8 March 2011

The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic needed extra time to beat the Canterbury Tactix 63-56 in their trans-tasman netball clash in Rotorua.

The match was level at 47-all at the end of regulation time.

The Magic were forced into a number of turnovers during the game while shooter Irene van Dyk was kept to just 26 goals.

The Tactix, who had this match moved from Christchurch because of the earthquake, were unable to keep the pressure up during extra time as the Magic recorded their 4th straight win and moved to second on the table.

The Tactix have lost both of their matches so far.

Meanwhile the New South Wales Swifts produced a final quarter rally to squeeze past the West Coast Fever 55-51 in Sydney.
