The Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting has escaped with a reprimand after causing minor damage to a tv set in the dressing room after his dismissal in Australia's opening World Cup match against Zimbabwe on Monday.
Ponting wasn't fined and there was no formal hearing after he accepted a level one charge and a reprimand from the match referee.
The Australian camp stressed the damage to the tv set was accidental and Ponting reported it immediately.
Australia play the Black Caps in their second group match tomorrow night in Nagpur.
