The All Whites skipper Ryan Nelsen has signed a new contract with his English Premier League football club Blackburn Rovers.
The 33-year-old-defender was contracted to Rovers until next year, but has penned a one-year extension until 2013.
Nelsen joined Blackburn from DC United in 2005 and has made in excess of 200 appearances for the club.
The signing is big fillip for manager Steve Kean, who himself only secured his long-term future at Ewood Park with a new contract this week.
Blackburn are 11th on the Premier League table.
