Greta Arn wins ASB Classic

Greta Arn has won the Auckland ASB tennis Classic, the unfancied Hungarian beating the defending champion Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium in straight sets in the final.

Arn's 6-3 6-3 victory is just the 31-year-old's second WTA Tour triumph and came as the culmination of a fairytale run through the Classic.

Arn arrived in Auckland without her luggage, her coach or a guaranteed place in the main draw, but knocked out the top seed from Russia and tournament favourite, Maria Sharapova, en route to the title.

Wickmayer looked out of sorts today, missing shots she normally lands all match and she may have been feeling the effects of Friday's mammoth semi-final comeback win over China's Peng Shuai - her third three-setter of the tournament.
