The last trotting meeting at Harold Park was held on Friday night with thousands of Sydneysiders fairwelling the raceway.
The raceway in Glebe held its first meeting in 1902.
The track is being sold to a property developer and the new home of harness racing in NSW will be Menangle Park in Sydney's south west.
In 1974 what has been labelled by the Harold Park chronicles as "the greatest ovation heard in the history of night trotting in New South Wales" greeted Tony 'AD' Turnbull as he contested the Miracle Mile.
A crowd of 22,448 were cheering at fever pitch as Turnbull's Hondo Grattan held off Paleface Adios after the two had battled all the way down the final straight.
Harold Park also hosted numerous Interdominions.
