Vettel dreams of Ferrari and Mercedes

The newly-crowned Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel could imagine himself in a Mercedes or Ferrari racing car in the distant future but for now he will stick with Red Bull.

Vettel, who became Formula One's youngest world champion by winning the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, says compatriot and seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher has told him what it was like driving for the Italian and German carmakers.

The 23-year-old says the Ferrari and Mercedes brands are the past, present and certainly the future of Formula One, adding every driver dreams of racing for Ferrari and Mercedes.

But he says his next aim is to defend the title with Red Bull.

Vettel, who has returned to the Middle East for tests of the new Pirelli tyres at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit, will return to his hometown of Heppenheim on Monday for a major celebration.
