Ellis disappointed not to win points race

The New Zealand track cyclist Lauren Ellis admits to being disappointed with her silver medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games.

The World Championship silver medalist claimed the same colour in the points race, finishing five points behind the Australian Megan Dunn.

The women's track coach Dale Cheatley says the three New Zealand riders worked well and it was unfortunate Ellis couldn't get up in the very last sprint, after she won the penultimate sprint.

Ellis got boxed in and couldn't get out early enough to come home and take the final sprint.

Cheatley says while Ellis was disappointed not to get the gold, she knew she left everything on the track.

Simon van Velthooven was promoted from fourth to the bronze medal in the kieren after the Malaysian winner was disqualified.
