New Zealand has named a quartet of snowsport athletes to compete at the inaugural FIS Freeride World Championships in Andorra next year.
The team will be spearheaded by 2022 Women's Ski Freeride World Champion Jess Hotter, skiiers Ben Richards and Fynn Powell and snowboarder Conrad Niven.
All have previous experience on the Freeride World Tour, and have had podium finishes at elite international events.
The men's and women's ski and snowboard competitions, to be held in Ordino Arcalís, mark the first time freeride events have featured under the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.
Team manager Blake Marshall said it was an exciting milestone for the sport of Freeride.
"I've got a lot of love for the freeride community here in New Zealand, which makes this opportunity even more special."
