Belgium secured a place in the Davis Cup tennis World group, winning both reverse singles yesterday against Australia in Cairns.
Oliver Rochus levelled the tie for Belgium with a tight four sets win over Peter Luczak, and in the decider Steve Darcis beat Carsten Ball in straight sets.
Lleyton Hewitt injured his wrist during the tie and was ruled out of the reverse singles.
Hewitt had become the most successful Australian in Davis Cup history when he won the opening singles rubber on Friday.
