They are two of the biggest legends of the sport, and Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr are now set to square off in the ring.

Boxing's most notorious name will take on the richest fighter in the game in a blockbuster bout in 2026.

CSI Sports has announced that Tyson and Mayweather will compete in an exhibition boxing match early next year.

Tyson will be just a few weeks shy of 60 if the scheduled bout takes place.

He last fought in November 2024, in a highly criticised bout against Jake Paul, Tyson barely firing a shot in the unanimous decision loss.

"When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather I thought, 'No way this happens,' but, Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable - and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets," Tyson said in a press release.

Prior to the Paul fight, Tyson had not been in the ring since 2005.

"I still can't believe Floyd wants to really do this. It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's happening!"

Mayweather meanwhile has not fought since his crossover combat clash with former UFC champion Conor McGregor, which he won by round 10 TKO, taking his career record to 50-0.

"I've been doing this for 30 years and there hasn't been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy," said Mayweather.

"You already know that if I am going to do something, it's going to be big and it's going to be legendary. I'm the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want."
