The Brisbane Broncos' 30-14 win over the Melbourne Storm on Thursday night has shut the Warriors outside of the NRL's top four.

It means the Warriors won't have a second life in the playoffs if they lose in week one.

The Warriors now sit sixth, but will move up to fifth if they win away against the Manly Sea Eagles on Friday night in their final match of the regular season.

The Warriors will drop to sixth if the Cronulla Sharks - currently fifth - win away against the third-placed Canterbury Bulldogs on Saturday night.

They will have an at-home elimination final next weekend, regardless of which way results go for the remainder of this weekend's games.

If they finish sixth they will host either the Penrith Panthers or the Sydney Roosters. Finishing fifth would see them host either the Panthers, Roosters or the Dolphins.

The Broncos' win means they will finish fourth and travel to Canberra in week one of the finals to face the Raiders.

The Storm were locked into second place regardless of the result but they've lost Kiwis halfback Jahrome Hughes for the rest of the season with an arm injury.
