Erin Routliffe and her Canadian partner Gaby Dabrowski are through to the semi-finals of the women's doubles at the US Open.

The third seeds scored a three-set victory over 11th seeds Timea Babos of Hungary and Luisa Stefani of Brazil.

Routliffe and Dabrowski lost the first set 6-0 before coming back to win the next two 6-4, 6-4.

They'll meet second seeds and Olympic champions Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini of Italy in the last four.

Routliffe and Dabrowski won the US Open doubles title in 2023.

Fellow New Zealander Michael Venus and his doubles partner Yuki Bhambri of India are through to the quarter-finals of the men's competition.

The 14th seeds have beaten fourth seeds Tim Puetz and Kevin Krawietz of Germany in straight sets.

They'll meet 11th seeds Nikola Mektic of Croatia and American Rajeev Ram in the last eight.

In singles men's second seed Carlos Alcaraz cruised into the semi-finals, demolishing Czech Jiri Lehecka 6-4 6-2 6-4 on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Alcaraz has yet to drop a set at Flushing Meadows and he had the crowd in the palm of his hand as he fired off 28 winners and never faced a break point.

Alcaraz will play the winner of the match between 24-times major winner Novak Djokovic and American fourth seed Taylor Fritz.

In the women's draw American Jessica Pegula reached her second straight US Open semi-final with a clinical 6-3 6-3 win over twice Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Fourth-ranked Pegula had a dreadful run-up to the year's final major but has flipped the script in New York, where she has yet to drop a set and fired off 17 winners to beat the unseeded Czech.

Pegula will next play either defending champion and world number one Aryna Sabalenka or unseeded Czech Marketa Vondrousova.
