Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe is undergoing treatment for acute gastroenteritis at a hospital, the club has announced.
Mbappe, 26, will "undergo a series of tests and follow the appropriate course of treatment", Real Madrid said.
The French international sat out Real Madrid's 1-1 draw with Al Hilal on Wednesday in Club World Cup Group H play in Miami Gardens, Florida, with what the club originally said was a fever.
Real Madrid has two matches remaining on their slate in the Club World Cup group stage. They will meet Mexican side CF Pachuca on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., and then Austroa's RB Salzburg on June 26 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Mbappe scored 31 goals and three assists in 34 appearances last season with Real Madrid in La Liga play.
