New Zealand has been drawn to play hosts France in both the men's and women's football tournaments at this year's Paris Olympics.

The men will also play the United States, and the winner of a play-off between Guinea and an Asian team in their pool.

The New Zealand women will play holders Canada along with France and Colombia.

The New Zealand men are involved on the opening day of the tournament on 24 July, two days before the opening ceremony in Paris.

They will open against either Guinea or the Asian team in Nice, before heading to Marseille to play the USA and France.

Darren Bazeley's U-23 New Zealand's men's side won the men's Olympic football tournament - Oceania qualifier in New Zealand last September.

The Football Ferns will open up against Canada in Saint-Étienne on 25 July before heading to Lyon to play Colombia and France.

Jitka Klimkova's Football Ferns qualified for the Olympic showpiece by winning the women's Olympic football tournament - Oceania qualifier in Samoa last month in Samoa.

One of the feature matches of the women's draw is the game between world champions Spain and Brazil.

Two-times defending champions Brazil will not take part in the men's tournament after failing to qualify.

The women's final will conclude the football tournaments on 10 August at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
