New Zealand's World and Olympic shot put champion Valerie Vili has missed out on making the finalists for the IAAF athlete of the year.
Vili had been named amoung the list of nominations, but missed out on the final three, pipped by Ethiopian runner Tirunesh Dibaba, Russian pole-vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva and Kenyan runner Pamela Jelimo.
The men's finalists are Ethiopian runner Kenenisa Bekele, Jamican sprinter Usain Bolt and Cuban hurdler Dayron Robles.
The winners will be announced at a gala evening in Monte Carlo later this month.
