Phoenix go bottom

8:21 am on 3 November 2008

The Perth Glory have sent the Wellington Phoenix to the bottom of the A-League after winning the battle of the cellar dwellers 2-nil in Perth.

It was Perth's second straight win at home and they are now a point clear of Wellington.

Nikita Rukavytsya was the star up front for the Glory, scoring in both halves.

Wellington boss Ricki Herbert was satisfied with how his men performed around the pitch but bitterly disappointed not to see enough scoring chances.

He says they were up for it and a couple of poor decisions they made cost them.

Herbert says they just have to do a lot better with the ball.... the last few games the possession stats haven't been favourable to them but they've got something out of it, but here it was the opposite and that's disappointing.
