Polish authorities freeze FA accounts in tax row

6:44 am on 28 October 2008

Poland's tax office has frozen the bank accounts of the Polish Football Association due to unpaid taxes.

The move comes just three days before the association is due to elect a new head to avoid sanctions from world body FIFA and the potential loss of Poland's right to co-host Euro 2012 with Ukraine.

The assocation says it's liquidity is not under threat and the money's now been transferred.
