The New Zealand mens amateur golf team will be out to improve on a solid start to the world amateur team's championship in today's second round in Adelaide.

Their three under par team score yesterday has the NZ trio tied for 7th place, seven strokes behind the United States, who lead Scotland by two strokes.

New Zealand's world number one Danny Lee had a 3-under par 70 yesterday, Jarod Pender a par 73 and James Gill a 74.

New Zealand and the United States were among the few leading teams to play yesterday on the more difficult Royal Adelaide course.
