The World number two tennis player Jelena Jankovic has defeated fourth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets to win the China Open women's title.
Andy Roddick has ended the dream run of unseeded Israeli Dudi Sela to win the men's event.
The win moves Jankovic only 21 points shy of re-claiming the number one spot from Serena Williams
In the men's final, American Roddick secured a three set victory over Sela, who had knocked out top seed David Ferrer of Spain and sixth seed Tommy Robredo.
Roddick's win moves him closer to clinching one of the four remaining spots for the season-ending Tennis Masters Cup in November exclusive to the year's eight top-performing players.
