Michael Campbell is on the first day leaderboard at the British Masters golf tournament in England.
Campbell's three-under par 69 at the Belfry was good enough for a share of eighth place, two strokes off the leaders, Australia's Marcus Fraser and the Swede Michael Lundberg.
Campbell's Ryder Cup-playing partner Lee Westwood, the defending champion, had a 68, but the other member of their group Scotland's Colin Montgomerie stumbled round in 81.
The other New Zealander in the field, Gareth Paddison, had a 77.
