Victory lifted Spurs into fifth place with 25 points from 14 matches, 10 points off the top of the table but with a game in hand, as new manager Antonio Conte continued to make an impact.

It was the first time Spurs had scored three goals in a home league game this season.

Brazilian midfielder Fred curled in a 77th-minute winner as Ralf Rangnick made a winning start as Manchester United's interim manager with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

United moved up to sixth place in the table one point behind Spurs. Palace slipped to 12th on 16 points.

Leeds United's returning striker Patrick Bamford struck in added time as they snatched a 2-2 draw against Brentford at Elland Road.

Brentford are 12th on the table and Leeds 14th.

Aston Villa beat Leicester 2-1 to jump above them into 10th place.

Russia wins Davis Cup

World number two Daniil Medvedev beat Marin Cilic to lead the Russian Tennis Federation to a third Davis Cup title.

Andrey Rublev had won the first singles match against Borna Gojo to put the Russians ahead in Madrid.

Medvedev was unbeaten throughout the tournament in a year where he won his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open.

The Russians are the fourth nation to win both the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup - the women's equivalent team competition - in the same year.

Medvedev was also part of the team who won the ATP Cup at the start of the season.

Mostert wins at Mount Panorama

Chaz Mostert and Lee Holdsworth in a Holden have combined to win the Bathurst 1000.

Chaz Mostert wins 2021 Bathurst 1000.

Mostert, who scored pole with the fastest ever Supercar lap of Mount Panorama on Saturday, helped himself to a second Great race victory.

For Holdsworth, it was Bathurst victory No.1 in his 18th start, some 17 years after his Bathurst debut.

It was the 35th win for Holden and the first for Walkinshaw Andretti United under its current guise.

Mostert was forced to hold off champion-elect New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen in the closing laps before the latter fell out of contention with a puncture.

It helped Cameron Waters finish second for the second year running, with James Moffat clinching his second Great Race podium.

Erebus Motorsport duo Brodie Kostecki and David Russell scored their maiden Bathurst podiums in their third and 12th starts respectively.

Van Gisbergen, who won the 2020 race with Garth Tander, was classified 18th.

Chelsea treble

Chelsea women saw off Arsenal 3-0 in a dominant display in the delayed final to last season's FA Cup to win their first domestic treble.

Emma Hayes' side, who also won the Women's Super League title and League Cup last season, were deserved winners in front of 40,942 fans at Wembley on the 50th anniversary of the competition.

Arsenal - the record 14-time winners of the FA Cup - were second-best throughout and despite a slight improvement in the second half, produced a performance which was a far cry from their domestic form this season.

The victory was Chelsea's third in an FA Cup final and all three of their titles have come under Hayes' guidance.

New Zealanders Marcus Armstrong and Liam lawson were eighth and ninth respectively.

The final round is in Abu Dhabi next weekend.

"He hasn't informed us officially. He told us unofficially," BCB presidnet Nazmul Hassan said. "We told him to inform us officially. He has to give a reason. Shakib contributes with either bat or ball. He strengthens the team combination. There's no substitute for Shakib."

The New Zealand series will count towards the 2021-23 World Test Championship. The first Test is set to be played in Mount Maunganui from January 1 to 5, and the second in Christchurch from January 9 to 13.
