The New Zealand javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar has failed to qualify for the final of his event at the Beijing Olympics.
In wet conditions that hampered the performances, Farquhar could manage a best throw of just 76 point one-four metres ... which left him 20th overall with only the top 12 going to the final.
The conditions saw just 3 athletes throw the qualifying distance.
Farquhar's effort was 6 metres below his personal best.
