Greek forward ends Milwaukee's title drought

Giannis Antetokounmpo has delivered the Milwaukee Bucks their first NBA title in 50 years.

The Greek forward has scored 50 points as the Bucks have beaten the Phoenix Suns 105-98 in game six of the finals in Milwaukee to win the best-of-seven series 4-2.

Antetokounmpo also had 14 rebounds and five blocks and was presented with the Bill Russell Finals MVP award after averaging 35.2 points and 13.2 rebounds over the six games.

"I want to thank Milwaukee for believing in me," Antetokounmpo said. "I wanted to do it in this city. I wanted to do it with these guys."

He scored 33 points in the second half of game six, with his 50th point coming on a game-sealing free throw with just 9.8 seconds remaining. Antetokounmpo was 17 of 19 from the foul line.

The 26-year-old is is just the seventh player to score 50 points in an NBA finals game, joining the likes of Michael Jordan and LeBron James in the elite club.

Chris Paul had 26 points and five assists for the Suns, who dropped four games in a row after taking a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
